As the semester ground to a close, sleep-deprived Senior Design students put the finishing touches on their capstone design projects. The projects were all completed just in time for the Senior Design Expo, held on Dec. 7 in the NEB Lobby. Onlookers and ‘celebrity’ judges explored all the projects while discussing with the student teams. Later in the day, the five projects that were judged to be the best were brought upstairs to undergo final judging.
On the judging panel were:
- Retired ECE faculty member Dr. Leon Couch
- UF alumnus Don Irons (BSEE’69)
- Mark Easley (Texas Instruments)
- UF alumnus Mark Jaeger (BSEE ’84)
The results of the judging were as follows:

3rd | Induced Guitar String Resonator & Effects Unit | Erick Cinco & Nicholas Jamshidi |
