The Air Force Research Laboratory and the University of Florida recently announced the creation of a new university-led Center of Excellence (COE) for assured autonomy in contested environments. The $6 million investment brings together a diverse team of experts to research autonomous systems in environments where adversaries might be attempting to take control of, or exploit, friendly information systems.

ECE professor Dr. John Shea is a co-PI on the project—his research in the Center will focus on networked autonomous systems and improving the interface between networks and control systems.
