ECE Academic Assistant Receives Divisional Superior Accomplishment Award

Elizabeth Rivera-Cortes

ECE Academic Assistant Elizabeth Rivera-Cortes has won a 2022 Division Three Superior Accomplishment Award. UF’s Superior Accomplishment Awards recognize faculty and staff members who contribute outstanding and meritorious service, efficiency and/or economy, or to the quality of life provided to students and employees. In other words, Superior Accomplishment Awards recognize efforts that go the extra mile and beyond an employee’s normal assigned duties. Division-level award recipients receive cash awards of $200 each, then compete for university-level awards, which offer eight $1,000 and eight $2,000 cash awards.

Elizabeth has worked for the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering since 2018 and has quickly become an indispensable employee, serving as the first point of contact for the Student Services area, serving over 1500 ECE students. In this role, she ensures that students are directed to the appropriate resources and ensures that all posted course syllabi for the department are publicly available and accurate. She also supports the advising team, oversees the textbook assignment process, and oversees grade collection for the department.
