Swarup Bhunia, Ph.D., has been named as Director of the Institute and the Sachio Semmoto Professor. My T. Thai, Ph.D., a UF Research Foundation Professor, has been selected as the Associate Director of the Institute.
Soumyajit Mandal is currently the T. and A. Schroeder Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). He presents “Advances in Integrated Circuits and Systems for Novel Applications” Thursday, Feb. 14 @ 11:45 am, LAR 310.
Dr. Feng Chen is an Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science at the University at Albany—SUNY. He presents “Towards Automating Machine Learning for Pattern Discovery in Big Attributed Networks,” Thursday, Feb. 21, at 11:45 a.m. in LAR 310.
Maj/Dr. Geir Olav Dyrkolbotn is an officer in the Norwegian Armed Forces and an associate professor at Center for Cyber and Information Security (CCIS) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). He presents “Cyber Operations: Defending Operations, not Information and Technology” on Monday, Feb. 4 at 4:00 p.m., LAR 234.
In the inaugural Nelms Institute for the Connected World Seminar, Dr. My Thai (UF CISE) presents “LiteConnect: Lightweight Frameworks for IoT Empowered by Blockchain” on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 1:00. Dr. Thai also serves as the associate director for the Nelms Institute for the Connected World.
Using a novel system of custom-fabricated soil sensors, drones, and a wireless network, William Eisenstadt is part of a team of researchers aiming to reduce the amount of excess nitrogen fertilizer that makes its way into the water supply.
The $600k grant supports their project which aims to design, implement, and fabricate REVELARE, a security solution for IoT devices, which protects IoT devices in two ways.
Farimah Farahmandi is a post-doctoral associate in the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE) at the University of Florida. She will present “System-on-Chip Design and Validation for Emerging IoT Devices” on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 1:00 p.m. in Larsen 310.
On the third floor of Benton Hall, Dr. Yier Jin and his students have built a massive, interconnected virtual city out of Lego bricks which will be used to further research in the area of IoT and cybersecurity.
